Happy Samhain, Closing @ 2:00 Saturday

Happy Samhain, Sojourners!

Samhain (pronounced Sow-Wen) is the pagan holiday of high-autumn, that is most closely related to Halloween or Dia de los Muertos. It is at this time that we prepare for the coming rest of winter.  We remember our beloved ancestors at a special feast, and release fears and attachments that are holding us back. This way we can keep evolving and improving ourselves. Check out this link more information.

The precise moment of Samhain, according to astrological timing, is when the sun reaches 15 degrees of Scorpio. This year, that date falls on Nov. 7th. However, modern pagans celebrate those energetic tides anywhere from Oct. 31 through the first weeks of November.

So that our staff may celebrate this holiest day of our year, the Sojourner will close at 2:00 tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018.) We hope you will understand!

We have much exciting new merchandise in the shop, including new leather journals and a restock of herbs, essential oils and natural soaps this week. Come see us soon!

Samhain Blessings,

~Heron

The Sojo News: Past-Life Regression, Sustainble Palo Santo Products

Hello Sojourners!

Do you love the scent of Palo Santo Wood? We are pleased to carry a new source of sustainably harvested products from Third Eye Wood! You can find them on the new center wooden display in the second room of the shop.

Third Eye Wood – Palo Santo

This sacred tree is indigenous to select parts of South America. Similar to it’s botanical cousins, frankincense and myrrh, it is rich in brain-oxygenating terpenes such as a-terpinol and limonene. Translated from Spanish, Palo Santo means ‘sacred wood’ and its many uses can be traced back to the time of the ancient Incan Empire. It has long been revered by Shamans for its physical and metaphysical properties, such as:

  • Offers an uplifting aroma
  • Clears offensive odors
  • Repels unwanted insects and pests
  • Clears ‘mala energia,’ (bad energy)
  • Facilitates meditation
  • Raises vibration and spiritual awareness.

We now carry their Sticks, room sprays, soaps, and pyramid incense.

Guided Past-Life Regression Group Session with Edward Zula

This Friday, July 27th from 6-8pm Edward Zula presents a “Guided Past Life Regression” for  $15 per person! (Facebook event link here.)

Hosted by The Sojourner, 414 Evans Street, Uptown Greenville.

Learn how it might help you understand blocks, fears and inexplicable yearnings. Everyone will participate in a brief group regression and get to share their experience!
Sign up for your seat by calling 252-758-7656.

EdwardZulaNC@gmail.com

Short Bio: Now based in North Carolina, Edward Zula has been providing private readings, clarity, and comfort to his Los Angeles clients for more than thirty years. He uses psychometry (reading energy from objects and photos), clairsentience, and spirit communication to help clients with questions about relationships, career, important life decisions, and help resolve grief and loss. In his readings he uses cards, a pendulum, meditation, and any sentimental or meaningful objects the client wishes to share. He explains that he does not “see” spirits standing over anyone’s shoulder as a traditional medium might, but rather feels their presence, often hears them, and gets a sense of their physical appearance with his eyes closed.

Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap in liquid and bars – 6 scents

We are packed to the rafters in beautiful new merchandise to kick off the summer. Natural locally-made soaps, bug repellents, and bite soother spray is a must have around these parts. We’ve expanded our apothecary to include 6 scents of Dr. Bronner’s Castile soaps in both liquid and bar form.

Natural Bug repellents at The Sojourner

While you are enjoying the outdoors, remember that burning Ceremonial White sage is a deterrent to uninvited guests at the cook-out, namely the mosquitoes, and we have plenty!

Ceremonial White Sage bundles to repel banefulness of all sorts – especially mosquitoes!

Books and decks are fully stocked, and we have an abundance of beautiful statuary, including most of the Greek Gods of Olympus, and many Norse, Celtic, Hindu, Buddhist and Egyptian Deities.

Prisms, dream catchers, light catchers and wind chimes are a lovely addition to the windows and patios this season.  Lanterns, bamboo wind chimes, crystal prisms and strands of bells adorn every arbor of the shop this season!

Dream, Light and Wind Catchers at The Sojourner

Shoyeido all-natural Japanese incense is now back in stock! We have restocked favorites from their daily incense line (Including Nokiba/Moss Garden, the most popular) Kyoto Moon, Zen incense, and Jewel series, along with incense ash, bamboo charcoal, and ceramic incense bowls. We also have a new boxed incense to try, Madoka, which is formulated to produce less smoke than other incenses. This brand is truly high quality and my absolute favorite, and I have been proud to watch our selection grow over the years! You have to come try it out if you haven’t!

Shoyeido Incense restocked at The Sojourner

A note: Yes, these incenses are around $5-$6 for a standard box. They contain no synthetic ingredients or smelly charcoal/saltpeter. However: They contain 35 or more sticks per box! • 4mm and 8mm stone bracelets in many new varieties
  • Back-flow incense cones and new burners
