Hello sojourners!
As we hail the early arrival of spring, the shop begins to turn it’s eye towards all things Earthy and herbal. Keep an ear out for developments, hopes, and dreams for our apothecary in the near future…
New Inventory
Yesterday a box of popular bulk herb restocks arrived, including: Lavender flower, calendula flower, hibiscus flower, chamomile flower, elderberries, juniper berries, bay leaves, mugwort, and valerian root! We also received small packages of culinary spices such as paprika, garam masala, curry powder, and parsley.
All Starwest essential oils are now fully restocked, including lavender and tea tree.
We have also received some all-natural loofah sponges, and gentle ramie woven soap sacks to extend the shower-life of the organic, handmade soaps we have for sale!
We will be packaging and putting out for sale more tubs of raw, organic shea butter, as the empty tubs arrived yesterday!

Classes
If you are interested in learning how to make your own incense, natural bath and body products, or different topics in medicinal herbalism, be sure to keep an eye on our schedule as classes will be starting up soon! This is in addition to all of the other great classes we have regularly recurring on our schedule. Below is a list of upcoming classes, but we are constantly adding more!
Saturday, March 11th: Tarot 101//Wands and the Element of Fire
Join us for the third installment of our six-part Tarot series. This class will focus on the suit of wands, sometimes called staves. We will explore how the element of fire is embodied in every card of this suit from the ace, to the King and how each card displays the Hermetic principles of the element. We will discuss astrology and symbolism as they pertain to card meaning and interpretation. This series in beginner friendly, and covers some intermediate topics, so no matter the skill level, all will be welcome! Handouts are included, participants may wish to bring note-taking materials and favorite tarot decks.
Class will be $30 per person, Seating is limited, please register in advance by phone (252-758-7656), or in person.
Sunday, March 12th: Knock Knock!
In this two hour presentation/workshop, Edward Zula talks with participants about the different ways spirits of our loved ones communicate with us from the other side. “Sometimes they knock, play with lights, surprise us with familiar scent, come to us in dreams, and even hide or move objects,” says Edward Zula. “But no matter what it is, we are let wondering if it is spirit and ‘what did it mean ?'” Our desire to understand these messages and find meaning in them is what inspired Edwards to offer this healing workshop. “We want to know if our loved one is just saying hello when they knock a picture off the wall, or if there’s some other meaning. It can leave us frustrated, confused, and worried, which is not very helpful if we are still processing from our grief.”

Friday, March 31st: Sojo’s 8th Anniversary Party!
Lady Sojo’s doors opened for her first day of business on March 28th, 2009! My, how the last 8 years have flown by!
Join us for her 8th Birthday party on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 pm. We’ll have snacks and birthday cake to share, and you are welcome to BYOB. Bring your drum for a drum circle! Let’s celebrate the miracle of an “old” metaphysical shop!
Saturday, April 1st: Incense Making Workshop//Rolled Sticks and Cones
$25 per person, 12:00 – 2:00
Learn how to create your own rolled stick and cone incense from natural plant materials. Come prepared to use your hands and leave with your own handmade incense, including the instructions for continuing to make your own at home. All materials are included in the class fee.
